FRANK has been growing, and we need more room to display our art and serve as a community resource. The good news is we found a great new space in Carrboro. The gallery in University Place in Chapel Hill is now closed. We are set to re-open in our new location on March 28th.
I have a NEW SHOW AT FRANK in the company of wonderful artists. My work includes textiles, colorful encaustic and mixed media paintings. See link to FRANK for more details: www.frankisart.com
What a crazy year this has been for us all! Nothing is normal – even the Orange County Art Guild Studio Tour has changed! This year it will have a new hybrid format. It will begin October 24th online and will run through November 30th.
80 participating artists will have work on this site. 3 ways to view the art:
Go to OCAG online Gallery: http://ocagnc.org Work can be purchased directly through the site (can be mailed, picked up, or delivered).
Virtual Facetime studio visits can be scheduled
In-person visits can be arranged. My studio will be open (just call or email me) to arrange a safe, masked, private visit. Or if you prefer I can bring work outside onto my deck for your perusal. I will have lots of work available- some of which can be seen in the Online Gallery. If weather permits, I may even set up tables outside for viewing and purchase. Tables will be spaced far apart. I’ll send another email should that be possible.
Perhaps it’s time for a new piece of art as a backdrop for all those Zoom calls!!! Please do not hesitate to contact me should anything catch your eye or if you’d like a further look. Support local artists! Remember the Holidays are around the corner.
FRANK is open! My 2 kimono pieces are currently hanging in the gallery.
Create Whimsyinterviewed me recently. This linked article includes 10 images and a perspective on my work. Think of it as a way to visit me and continue the conversation.
Now in its 25th year, the 2019 open studio tour takes place the first 2 weekends in November. Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm, Sundays from 12 noon to 5 pm.
Please come to “my house” for the OPEN STUDIO TOUR. Savannah Scarborough will again be joining me to show her wonderful wabi-sabi ceramics. I will be having a mix of new and old work in encaustic, collage, printmaking, and textiles. I am also taking this opportunity to share some older, smaller treasures priced for holiday gift giving.
I am at Studio #51 – at 100 Cardiff Place in Chapel Hill.
My studio (#42) will be open on BOTH of the first two weekends of November for the OCAG Open Studio Tour. Again, Savannah Scarborough will be sharing my studio space with her beautiful pottery.
November 4th-5th & 11th-12th
10am to 5pm on the Saturdays, Noon to 5pm on the Sundays
New work large & small!
I am doing something a little different this year. In addition to larger encaustic, cold wax and mixed media works – I have an abundance of new, smaller framed pieces priced for holiday giving ($75-150.) I also have a numbered, limited edition of 10 giclee prints each of three favorite images, including “Durham Bull with the Pretty Eyes.” They are beautifully printed on cotton ragstock, fully archival and ready for framing in standard 16×20 frames.
